Rail Accident in Andhra Pradesh


On Saturday evening, the train on its way fromĀ Jagdalpur to Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha state crashed. Nine coaches and the engine left the trackĀ near Kuneru station in Vizianagaram district.

Atleast 36 people were killed and 50 injured in this accident. Rescue team reached the place. The injured people are taken to two nearby hospitals. The head of the East coast region said,

“Many people wreckage and rescuers warn that the death toll could rise.

It is not yet clear what caused the train to derail.

The area where the accident occurred is known as a Maoist hotbed.”

Train accidents are unusaul in India. Last year 150 people died when train derailed in northern state of Uttar Pradesh.
