Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes were originated in Central America or South America. In Central America is originated around 5000 years ago. In South America, it was originated domesticated 8000 years ago. It is used widely in India as a fasting food because of its fibre dense composition. This is the reason why dieticians recommend it in the weight loss diet. In certain parts of the English-speaking world, sweet potatoes are locally known by other names, including yam and kumara.
